Today Is Video Game Day! Bring Back PacMan & Maybe!

Apparently today is video game day,though probably not video games as i remember them! Call them vintage or obsolete i loved my spectrum games and do in fact still have the console and a fair few games.A few attempts to get my two kids to play it have met with failure,it seems that the half hour loading time to a symphony of whirring & flashing lights was just too much for them.Happy days playing pacman,bak2skool,dizzy & rollarcoaster (copied from your mate on a duel cassette recorder) don't seem like that long ago however the new technology and graphics tell me otherwise!I mean really could you call it a joy stick these days? The nail in the spectrums coffin was when i took the kids to Sheffields western park museum and there it was,right in the middle of the exhibit marked toys from yesteryear.

Happy Hop A Park Day!

I'm not quite sure why it's called "hop" a park rather than visit a park day but either way the UK parks will be packed today as we revel in this amazing heatwave! No it is not a rumour our weather normally is THAT bad.Time to grab a bbq fork,picnic hamper and a nice big rug to go catch some rays!

Never Eat Fried Chicken In A Bikini

Today is Bikini Day! After 2 children and a dorrito obsession i may pass on this rather flimsy national holiday,however tomorrow is fried chicken day.Much more exciting and an excuse is never needed for fried chicken.While contemplating how confusing the two could pose a possible health and safety problem and possible cleavage burns from a chicken leg we came across this lovely story....

         Knitted bikini keeps rescued battery chicken warm

Now this looks like a good layer – it’s one of the nicely knitted tops helping rescued battery hens survive freezing winter temperatures.
The birds, saved by RSPCA officers last month, had been so poorly treated their feathers had fallen out, leaving them at risk in the cold.
Staff at Raystede Animal Welfare ­Centre in Lewes, East Sussex, have been knitting clothing and volunteers have sent in jumpers.
Sanctuary worker Wendy Holford said: “I ­cannot get over the kindness of those people who have knitted jumpers for the girls.”

So never eat fried chicken in a bikini has a double meaning depending on who's wearing the bikini!Well and truly put off wearing my bikini and now off eating my chicken too...sooo cute
